Originally a warehouse belonging to the Miranda family who donated it to the people of Chipiona with the aim of building a shrine to the Christ of Divine Mercy.

Standing opposite the Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de la O, this small chapel is divided into two naves, one used for worship and the other, accessed through a small inner door, which had always been used as a storeroom with an interior courtyard, later covered to add an upper floor. The Chapterhouse currently occupies half of the ground floor.

The structure of the façade has a lintelled door (previously arched) with two semi-circular windows on the left; beside the door there are panels of tiles depicting Christ of Divine Mercy and the Virgen de la Soledad.

There is a belfry with two bells over the entrance. The seventeenth century figure Christ of Divine Mercy is the subject of great devotion in the city, as locals attribute to it the miracle of having saved the city after the tsunami floods provoked by the Lisbon Earthquake of 1755, and consequently occupies the place of honour on the new altar after being restored in 1975.
