The Pine Grove receives its name for the stands of stone pines (Pinus Pinea) concentrated in the areas known asMajadales (Higher and Lower), the Peritanda Pine Grove, El Abulagar and el Tábano. Other common types of plant species found here are the European fan palm (Chamaerops humilis), the white rock rose (Halimium halimifolium), different types of shrubs and underbrush, such as white Spanish broom (Retama monosperma) and mastic shrubs (Pistacia lentiscos).

The most common animal species here are the rabbit and the garden dormouse, Passerines such as the blackcap, the Sardinian warbler and the garden warbler; Fringillidae such as the common chaffinch, the greenfinch or the red-breasted robin. Reptiles include the occelated lizard (Lacerta lepida), the ladder snake (Elaphe scalaris), and of course, the common chameleon.

Green-ways (La Vía Verde in Spanish) are short-distance itineraries that make use of old railway lines that have been recovered and reconditioned for use by walkers and cyclists. This particular Vía Verde is about 8,5 km long and spans the town limits from one end to the other. Work is currently underway to finish the project.
