El Puerto de Santa María is situated in a privileged natural coastal environment with 16 kilometres fine golden-sand beaches that, together with bright sunlight and the crystalline waters of the sea, delight both locals and visitors alike.

On the left bank of the river we encounter two kilometres of urban beach, the popular Valdelagrana beach and the Levante beach, part of the Bahía de Cádiz Nature Park.

The right-hand bank of the river Guadalete leads to the beaches of La Puntilla and El Aculadero, which ends at the Puerto Sherry marina. The beaches of La Muralla and La Calita are separated by rocky formations, the latter leading to the impressive Santa Catalina beach, and finally on to that of Fuenterrabía.

All are classified as being of “Very good quality”, thanks to their natural conditions and the care lavished on them over the years. Most are equipped with all necessary facilities: rescue service and lifeguard post, first aid, safety zones for boats, showers, etc.. and, of course, chiringuito beach bars and restaurants to taste the delicious local cuisine so closely related to the sea that bathes these shores.
