MUSEO DEL MOSCATEL

Description

The Chipiona Moscatel Museum came into being as an ambitious project subject to years of planning as part of the Strategic Plan for Sustainable Tourism in Andalusia, with the aim of increasing awareness of and promoting the rich winegrowing traditions of Chipiona by means of sustainable Tourism.

The permanent exhibition presents, through 7 different modules with thematic areas and entertaining educational methods, all the processes followed in the production of wine and, consequently, of Moscatel throughout history; from Phoenician times, through the foundation of the city by the Romans, the Muslim age, the reconquest and from the industrial revolution to the present day

The thematic areas are:

• Module nº 1. Eco-museum of the Chipiona muscatel vineyards.
• Module nº 2. Historical Museum of the Wines of Chipiona.
• Module nº 3. Museum of the Bodega Cooperativa Católico Agrícola.
• Module nº 4. Ethnological Winemaking Museum
• Module nº 5. The Science of Wine Museum
• Module nº 6. The Culture of Moscatel Museum
• Module nº 7. The Wine Culture Route of Chipiona.
