Hidalgo-La Gitana was founded in 1792 and continues to be 100% family-owned and independent. For over 200 years the Hidalgo family have been cultivating vines and producing, ageing and selling sherry, brandy, liqueurs and vinegar of the Denominations of Origen, Jerez-Xèréz-Sherry, Manzanilla de Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Vinagre de Jerez and Brandy de Jerez.

Its location in the city of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, 300 metres from the sea, provides the ideal conditions for the ageing of their leading brand Manzanilla La Gitana and wines of the Jerez Region

The wines from Hidalgo won many international awards in the 19th century and, to this day just as in the past, emphasis is placed on quality and being environmentally-friendly. The grapes used to produce their wines are 100% Palomino Fino, planted in the albariza soil of their vineyards. Traditional methods of making and ageing wines are still in use following the system of “Soleras and Criaderas”.

In Bodegas Hidalgo-La Gitana you can enjoy a guided visit with wine tasting and the chance to purchase Manzanilla La Gitana and their whole range of sherries, as well as lunch in the bodega, in Restaurante Entrebotas.
