BODEGAS ÁLVARO DOMECQ

Description

In 1998 Álvaro Domecq Romero acquired the old Bodegas de Pilar Aranda and began to sell sherry under the trade name Álvaro Domecq S.L., a new venture for a “born again” bodega.

From the its beginnings the company differentiated itself from the extensive existing range of products already on the market by producing and marketing products of the highest quality, a distinction that stems from the acquisition of the most excellent musts that his team selects from the best bodegas in the Jerez region. These musts are then aged in American oak casks using the traditional craft system of soleras and criaderas.

The bodega dates back to the early 18^th century and is built upon a hill in the southern part of the city. Its characteristic features are its gable roof, high ceilings resting upon narrow pillars and numerous different spaces, including an exterior courtyard and the magnificent Salón Torrestrella ideal for celebrations.
