Bodegas TIO PEPE consists of an enormous Bodega Complex with patios and private walkways that dates back to 1835, including magnificent gardens listed as being of historic interest. Located in the historic centre of Jerez, next to the Alcázar.

On your visit, as well as learning about the production and ageing process of Brandy de Jerez and Sherry, you will get to see bodegas of different architectural styles, private avenues and magnificent patios covered by hanging vines. In addition, you will learn about the history of Manuel Mª González Ángel, the famous Tío Pepe, founder of the González Byass Bodegas.

The visit begins with the Brandy Route, taking a comfortable little train from the starting point at the Real Bodega de La Concha, designed by Gustavo Eiffel. From there, the little train takes you past Viña San Miguel, the only vineyard in Jerez that can be found inside a bodega. The visit includes the brandy bodega, the old cooperage, and the great Tío Pepe bodega crowned by the unmistakable TIO PEPE weather vane, the largest in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records.

The Sherry Route starts on foot from Bodega La Cuadrada and takes you to the oldest of the ageing warehouses, Bodega de Los Apóstoles with its 12,000 litre-capacity wine butts or casks and the largest, known as “el Cristo” (the Christ), with a capacity for 33,000 litres of wine. Crossing the vine-covered Calle Unión you are taken to Bodega La Constancia and Bodega Los Reyes, dating from 1857, which contain a veritable museum of sherry casks bearing the autographs of the many distinguished visitors that have visited González Byass throughout its long history.
