One of Spain´s oldest zoological parks and botanical gardens.

Its story starts in the 1950’s when Alberto Durán Tejera, to whom it owes its name, promoted its development and inaugurated the zoo on February 10, 1953. Initially dedicated to the fauna of the Iberian Peninsula and Spanish Guinea. Over the years, the zoo´s collection has been renewed and enriched until reaching its current state. The collection is highly valued for its variety of species and for the reproduction and conservation projects that take place at the zoo.

Aside from its conservational spirit, the zoo also fosters educational and research projects.

The zoo´s development is accompanied by a wealth of botanical species, making the park a unique place for recreation and leisure.
